What is life about? Is it about the natural cycle of reincarnation? Is it about finding love? Is it about making money? Is it about serving God? Is it about finding your soul, and being able to recognize the difference between our soul and body? Is it about influencing someone, and changing someone's life? Is it about saving someone's life? Is it about being happy? Is it about learning some big lesson in each life we live, in order to have a better life in the next one? Is it about finding that certain thing that makes us feel in balance with everything else in life? Is it about finding your soul mate? Is it about simply having fun? Is it only about spreading our genetics? Is it about learning how to forgive? Is it learning to truly recognize the difference between loneliness, and being alone? Is it about learning to laugh? Is it about finding that one thing that sparks a passion? Is it about learning valuable information, and spreading it? Is it about proving that humans are merely a part of the animal race? Is it about learning that life can't be defined?
What is it about?
I'd like to know, because sometimes part of me knows the answer, and other days I feel so confused and perplexed that I simply get a headache, and decide to visit the subject another day. And yet, every day I simply think of more things to add to the list that questions why we're here.
So, why are we here?
To question why we're here?
P.S. Here comes the headache. Should have known it would come eventually. I can't escape the damn things.
P.P.S. Leave a comment if you have a theory on what life is about! I'm truly curious.

Happy
So I recently watched a documentary (yes, I watch documentaries) called Happy. After watching the entire thing, and feeling perplexed, I couldn't stop thinking about it, even days later. I think that the appealing thing about this documentary was that the pursuit of happiness could be backed by science. The part that stuck out the most was that apparently human happiness is based on multiple aspects, not just things like money, success, physical or material things... It's actually split between three different determinants. 50% of what determines someone's happiness is something called a "set point". The movie compares this to genetics, or what your happiness set point was when you were born. My own theory is that the set point is related to someone's time of year they were born, or zodiac sign, which is why a certain zodiac sign can tell so much about any given person. 40% is intentional activity. These are things like actions you decide to make that make you happy. Such as a certain route you take on a run, or the kind of music you listen to, or what kind of things you do for fun such as hobbies. The amazingly shocking part that I loved finding out was that only 10% of our happiness is caused by circumstances. By this, they mean material things. Where you live, what kind of neighborhood you live in, what kind of car you drive, what kind of house you live in, things like that. So you're telling me that a huge part of being happy is something I can control? Well, haven't I been talking about this for the majority of my life now?!
If you don't believe me, go watch the documentary on your own. I watched it on Netflix, and it's only an hour so it won't take up too much time. It really is an enlightening documentary. It took us on a journey all over the world to help show us that being happy isn't about what's around us, it's about what's inside of us. If we choose to be rotten about our past, and pitiful about circumstances, well then expect an unhappy life.
Another thing that amazes me is the simplicity of the examples they used to exemplify happiness. The scientists described that even a small change of scenery, such as a different route taken during a morning run, can actually boost your happiness. They also talk about how true shocking things or sorrows don't last for a long time. After it passes, we return to our "set point", so if your "set point" is low, that's unfortunate, but that's not all that happiness is. Even through sorrow, our happiness is still our own choice. This shocking information seemed so obvious after I sat and thought about it for a bit. DUH! Seemed to be all I could think after I truly soaked in all of the valuable information. Everything leads back to mindset, and if we have a negative mindset, expect negative consequences, and that happens to be unhappiness.
Well, I hope that after reading this many people will begin to consider the importance of being positive. Just learn to let loose, and let it all go. Things happen, tragedies occur, and everyone goes through their own story. But the funny part? That's exactly what life is. A story. And you know what's even more funny? We can all write our own story, and that's exactly what I plan on doing.
Have a wonderful night everyone, and I hope you all go to bed with a smile on your face knowing you got through another day.

An exciting opportunity!
So recently I discovered a website that totally changed my life. I know that everyone has heard of Amazon.com right? Well if you know me personally, you know that most of my life revolves around reading, and my Kindle. Well, it just so happens that I can independently publish my novels on Kindles using Kindle Direct Publishing. Wow, what a small discovery that changed my life. And you know how I found this wonderful, life changing link? I was looking for the "contact me" link on Amazon.com. How I managed to avoid this discovery the entire time I've had my Kindle, I've no idea!
Well, my blog is named Just A Girl With Dreams. If you've read my first blog post, you're aware that my biggest dream is to become an author. I've been dreaming this silly little dream since fourth grade, and baby I'm about to make it happen. Whether it's being self published for free using KDP, and most likely making no money, I am absolutely okay with that. I obviously have the opportunity to make profit off of my novels, and I plan on doing that one day. But I've been writing a story that will soon turn into a novel, and I am so excited to share it! Although I'm dreaming big, I'm hoping it will be finished by June, and if it's finished, then it's on Kindles everywhere! People in Japan, Egypt, Romania, and Greece will be able to read my books! Just the thought makes me lightheaded with excitement and disbelief.
Of course with all of this, my doubt is beginning to resurface, so that's how I know that I really need to keep writing on my blog. My blog has a totally different style than fiction, which you know. I'm just hoping the little bit of reality this blog provides me will keep me sane, and on track. I know this most definitely is not my usual blog post, but I figured I'd share my exciting news with everyone.
Oh, and thank you so much to you guys for reading my blog posts. You guys inspire me to keep writing, and keep trying to get heard. Hopefully this opportunity is that "open door" that everyone speaks of. Wish me luck everyone
P.S. I'll keep you guys updated!
P.P.S. I need a fake name because people trying to pronounce my real name will be a joke.
I can only imagine
Girl: "Hey! Have you read Gabriella Marderosian's new book?"
Girl 2: "Who the hell? Say that again? Wait, now spell that"
Girl: "Crap, I don't know how to spell it."
Me in my head: "I'm screwed."
^^SEE WHAT I DO TO MYSELF?
Have a lovely, inspirational, and full of opportunity night everyone.

Music Saved My Life
Today music spoke to me. It whispered into my soul things I needed to hear in order to get through the day. The beat ran through my veins and powered my blood with energy and inspiration, and it was totally amazing. It was like an unreal experience that left me totally out of breath and perplexed at the thought of being affected by something I can simply hear. It seems impossible. That something so ridiculously simple can change my mood, the way I think, and the way my day goes. All I have to do is pop my headphones in, and baby I'm flying away in the clouds feeling alive. Literally the second I start to listen to music and close my eyes, I begin to feel powerful, strong, and able.
And this feeling takes over my body. This powerful feeling just swallows up my fear and unleashes it's true potential. And music does this? What an incredible thing.
Excuse my indirectness and kind of silly post. But I love music, and what it does to me. Here's a list of songs I love-
Words I never said by Lupe Fiasco and Skylar Grey
Self Taught by Brother Ali
She's Enough by Atmosphere
Like Toy Soldiers by Eminem
Respiration by Mos Def and Talib Kweli
Poetic Justice by Kendrick Lamar and Drake
Lotus Flower Bomb by Wale
The Waitress by Atmosphere
Dreamland by Andy Allo and Blu
Hip Hop Saved My Life by Lupe Fiasco
Have a inspirational night everyone

Stop accepting, and start demanding
Before I start, let me just say it's been months since I've blogged. So, excuse me if I'm slightly rusty. And I'd ilke to add that I am disappointed in myself since it seems that I have forgotten about my blog. But I never really forgot about it, just felt like I didn't have anything to say.
Today at an ungodly hour, I had a thought. I had a thought about human beings (of course). Why we think the way we do, how unique we all are, why we can't seem to understand ourselves, things like that... And I couldn't stop thinking about it. All of it. Just why we are the way we are, and why we accept it. It's actually kind of funny the way people accept things. But the things we accept are generally things we can't control like death, break ups, things like that. And you know what kills me? When people say "I just have to accept that this is how my life turned out." Lies. Lies. Lies, and more lies. Oh my gosh I can not even describe to you how much this irks me. Who gave us that idea? Who planted this ridiculous notion in our minds that tells us we're hopeless? We're powerful! We don't have to accept this. We're so damn powerful we don't know what to do with it sometimes.
So, don't accept it. Spit in "life's" face and tell it to come back another day. Take control of your life, and don't accept it if it hasn't turned out the way you want it to. And I just want to point out that I didn't say the way you planned. Life isn't going to go the way you planned it to, and that's because there are too many people on this earth, and everyone's life intertwines. You can plan on curing cancer, but someone else might do it first. Anyway, if your life is something that disappoints you, and seems unworthy. You are the one doing things wrong. It's not like someone is in the skies with a plan for all of us. I understand that not everyone agrees with that, but something you should know about me is that I am not religious. Enough about that, let's get back to what I was saying.
Don't accept it. Don't put blame on someone else. Don't look back and regret. Don't pity. Don't sigh and dream. Just get behind the damn wheel and drive. GO! Stop waiting. Stop accepting. Start demanding. Because with all the thing that get handed to us without our permission, we deserve to demand. But let me remind you of attitude. Look at what is handed to us as another stepping stone to our ultimate ending. In a good way. The ending of our lives should be something we work to, because when we leave we should feel proud. If you don't, you did something wrong. But before you're at that point, take control and demand a damn great life. Because we deserve it. If you work for it, that is.
Have a great night everyone, and don't stay up awake at night thinking about the human race. Go to sleep, and wake up into a new day.
Unlike me of course. I'll ponder because that is all I ever seem to do.
